When it comes to generating leads for your company, it is vital to ensure that you are using all the tools you have at your disposal—especially the ones that have been proven effective. In this day and age, that means leveraging the power of social media. With more than 800 million users, Facebook is an ideal avenue for you to use in generating leads, and that’s to say nothing of the other social networks that are out there. But what are the best strategies for implementing social media to your advantage?

Consider these six tips:

1. The first tip with this, and any other method of generating leads, is to know your customers. Facebook is popular across the board, but something like LinkedIn or Twitter is more likely to have its own niche demographics of users. Know what social networks your potential customers actually use, and plan your social media strategy accordingly.

2. Use LinkedIn, but not just for networking with colleagues; join networks where your customers are, as well. Remember, it’s all about generating leads!

3. Remember that content is key. Don’t become a social network spammer; create content that is actually interesting and helpful, or at the very least repurpose content from another source. This will not only get more people following your social networks, but it will also establish you as more of a credible authority in your field.

4. Remember also to keep things organized. You might come up with a schedule or calendar of content creation and publication to help you stay on track.
